Class Project: Golden-Crowned Kinglet(with opened wing)

Cost: $460 + Material/Supply Fee $30 (Wood, eyes, etc.)
Students will carve and paint a detailed Kinglet. The bird and the opened wing will be carved separately. The wing will be attached at the end of the carving portion of the class. The entire bird will then be painted as one solid piece. Students are encouraged to bring in a (small) premade habitat to mount the bird to in the class. Josh has a picture shown below that gives an example of a good-sized base and branch that work well with the bird. 

Josh will do a series of demonstrations that will teach the students every aspect of carving and painting a realistic bird.  Josh is going to cover the intricacies of creating a soft feathered realistic look that has made him a much sought-after instructor. He will provide a study cast for students to use throughout the class. The students have the option of buying the cast at the end of the class.
